Pay:  Most of the government jobs including bank jobs, railway jobs, administration services and technical jobs pay good salary to their employees. The pay offered to a govt employee may not be higher than the one offered in the private sector, but additional benefits and allowances are way more

Working hours: Govt jobs have fixed working hours and that too are not attended by most of govt employees. Private offices also have fixed working hours but you never know when your boss tells you to stay longer or gives you extra work for the day.

Reputation: Reputation follows a government employee. Even if you are a 3rd grade govt employee, you are still respected more than a senior private job holder.

Job security: This is the main reason why people go for government jobs. They assume and somehow it is true that once you become a govt employee, you will not be removed from the position until and unless you do something really bad.

Money and Pension: Government agencies are full of corruption and if are a part of it, you can earn easy money. Even if you do not follow the wrong path, your salary is enough for a decent life. The pension is offered to a government employee even after the retirement.
